Garage Door Eyes Both Are The Same Color
These sensors are designed to protect children from unnecessary harm and are usually positioned about 6 to 8 inches in front of the vertical tracks that the garage door moves up and down on.
Garage door eyes both are the same color. Usually it looks best if it is the same as on the rest of your home but there are times when it may look better to not call attention to the trim with a contrasting color. As of january 1 1993 it became mandatory that all garage door openers have safety eye sensors built into them. If the house has shutters we like the shutters to match either the garage or the front door this gives consistency to the exterior or they should coordinate with another exterior colour maybe even the roof but the shutters need to connect with another exterior element. However there are exceptions to that rule.
A good idea is to have it match the framing around the door and windows. The quickest way to know if it is a photo eyes problem is to look at the light bulb on the motor. If your front door is a bright color like red or yellow or turquoise you might find the same color overwhelming when applied to the expanse of a garage door. They always work the same way with the same leds and colors.
There are two sensors. The garage door colour should match another colour on the home s exterior. These changes in light will affect color and contrast ratios. Don t paint the garage doors in the same accent color as the front door or shutters.
If the garage and front doors both face the street consider painting them the same color to unify your exterior color scheme.
