Garage Door Bounces Back Open

Maybe you have to hold the garage door button down for the door to close.

Garage door bounces back open. It goes partway down reverses direction and goes back up again. The garage door will automatically go in reverse. Sometimes the sensors will be in alignment and just as the door gets close to being shut it will vibrate enough to push one sensor off. Turn the down limit switch screw clockwise one turn with a flat blade screwdriver if the garage door closes and then begins to open back up.

In order to fix this you ll want to make small changes to the close limit setting until the door opener knows to stop once the door has reached the floor. If these can t see each other when the door is almost shut it will send a signal to the garage door motor to open back up. Open the garage door and watch it closely as it opens. This brain can wear out in time so you could need a replacement.

Get logic board replacement. You push the button to close the garage door. A careless or rushed parking job can cause the car s bumper to block the sensor. Your garage door sensor works by having two photo sensitive devices on either side of the garage door.

Turn it one complete turn clockwise. Measure the height where the door stops while it is being opened. You want the one on the left. When the garage door opens about halfway or 5 feet from the ground and stops the up limit switch needs to be adjusted.
